Nexon's Investment was for iOS Games

Sorry I couldn't update yesterday, there wasn't a ton of news, and I was sick. I was looking up some more connections between Boombang and 5ants and found another link (an interview) leading to the idea that Boombang has closed. Click here for the interview. Within the interview with Matias Ini, the designer of Boombang, said that he had the luck of designing both Boombang and 5ants and has now moved onto developing other games of his own. Unforunately, it takes away the hope that Boombang is getting a makeover, and with Luis and Max not developing anymore, as well as the whole team leaving the company, it leads to the idea that Boombang is over.

In another link, that can be found here, I found a Prezi created by Miguel Santirso, a member of 5ants. They mention Boombang in the Prezi, but one of the bulletpoints under that slide says "Nexon invests in Boombang in late 2010." It's not a big secret, but then the next bulletpoint says "Transition to 5ants begins in early 2011." It seems like Nexon invested because Max was planning on Tiny Thief already. They didn't invest in Boombang. At that point Boombang was probably insignificant to 5ants so they decided to take the game down.

However, many news articles relating to Nexon's investment in Boombang says that Boombang was planning on expanding to South America. Max didn't end up going through with the Boombang expansion because he stopped developing Boombang. I came across both Luz's and Max's LinkedIn accounts (Credits to Kinect). On Luz's it says that she worked at 5Ants from July 2011 to June 2014. When looking at Max's LinkedIn, it said he developed Boombang from 2004 to 2010, 6 years. But when Max stated he began working for 5 Ants in May of 2010 to present-day, he also stated Nexon invested in 5 Ants for mobile games, not web games.

Luis's LinkedIn contradicts Max's statement, though. Luis claims that 5 Ants is aimed to develop casual iOS and web games. It's hard to decide who has the correct information, but the 5 Ants LinkedIn says that they do develop both iOS and web games. Considering that the 5 Ants LinkedIn and Luis's LinkedIn don't seem like they've been updated for awhile, and Max says that Nexon specifically invested in iOS games, I'm pretty sure they've done away with Boombang.

I'll try to update as soon as I find more news, I'm on Spring break right now so I'll have more time. Come back soon for another update.
